This Friday, July 1st, Canadians will be celebrating Canada Day.

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Canada?

  1. Is it the vast amount of land space?
  2. Perhaps it’s winter, or hockey, or the maple leaf?
  3. Maybe our wide diversity of people and cultures?

Whatever it may be, we can all acknowledge that Canada has many things worth celebrating. From all five aspects of Achieve Potential’s holistic success: Spiritual, Wellness, Relational, Career, and Financial, living in a place like Canada can give you a great start to your success journey. So, as we all gather ’round with our poutine and double-doubles, let’s take some time to reflect on some of the things that make this country so great.

Global Liveability Index

A couple of weeks ago, Economist Intelligence released their Global Liveability Index for 2022. Three Canadian cities ranked in the top 10: Calgary, Vancouver and Toronto. Canada has more entries into the top ten than any other country. This is a fantastic feat, and as Canadians, we should be so proud of ourselves for being recognized in this way, especially since this is widespread.

Canada frequently ranks within the top 20 or even 10 out of 195 countries in education, happiness levels, equality, living conditions, healthcare etc.

A Lot to be Thankful For

So what does this mean? First, as Canadians, we have a good standard of life, something we should be grateful for. Our country offers a lot in terms of opportunity and prosperity. While we still have a ways to go socially, we are still doing quite well.

Celebrating Canada

While you are out this weekend, enjoying time with your family and friends, don’t forget to think of the country you live in. Because as Canadians, we have so much to be thankful for. We believe that we all have a purpose to fulfill. We strive to live our purpose daily and are passionate about helping others do the same. As well as create an inclusive culture that respects and recognizes that our differences contribute to our success.

“Canada is a great country, one of the hopes of the world.”

– Jack Layton
